Something to chew on...

Breakfast- 1 Navel orange, 3 Honey Tangerines

Lunch- Smoothie (fresh Almond milk, banana, dates, coconut and spices)

Dinner- Salad (3 shredded carrots, 2 sticks celery diced, 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 cup walnuts)

I felt like I was chewing on those shredded carrots for hours!  It all tasted good though.  Mastication is part of healthy digestion- it stimulates the digestive action.  That's generally why some raw foodists aren't fans of high volume juice and soup consumption.  When someone "downs" a juice or soup, its not properly mixed with the digestive juices and the stomach is not quite prepared for the stuff because of the absence of mastication, which is supposed to send a signal that food coming down the hatch.

A new friend gave me gift today when we saw each other in a class that we're taking.  She gave me an avocado!  How wonderful for us that as raw foodists a beautiful green gift like that can trigger such a big smile on my face!

Great website! Thanks for the different meal ideas in the blog. Today at breakfast I had a few organic navel oranges - two were sweet and one just so-so, I wonder why that is, same batch and all...mid-way through the morning I had a piece of Ms. Lillian's pie - delicious - which helped me hold off the hunger until lunch

Thanks! Regarding the oranges, it's disappointing to bite into a piece of fruit and it not be all we were hoping it would be. Were they really from the same batch? I would understand that to mean that they were from the same tree. By the time our produce actually arrives on our table it has been sorted and handled numerous times since it was harvested. Chances are that your oranges came from different trees and maybe in different fields!

I've gotta give Ms. Lillian's web address; her cheesecakes are the best around! http://rawsoul.com/takeout.htm
