Breakfast- 1 Navel orange, 3 Honey Tangerines
Lunch- Smoothie (fresh Almond milk, banana, dates, coconut and spices)
Dinner- Salad (3 shredded carrots, 2 sticks celery diced, 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 cup walnuts)
I felt like I was chewing on those shredded carrots for hours! It all tasted good though. Mastication is part of healthy digestion- it stimulates the digestive action. That's generally why some raw foodists aren't fans of high volume juice and soup consumption. When someone "downs" a juice or soup, its not properly mixed with the digestive juices and the stomach is not quite prepared for the stuff because of the absence of mastication, which is supposed to send a signal that food coming down the hatch.
A new friend gave me gift today when we saw each other in a class that we're taking. She gave me an avocado! How wonderful for us that as raw foodists a beautiful green gift like that can trigger such a big smile on my face!
