It's not for moral reasons, but really...

Breakfast- 7 Honey tangerines

Lunch- 5 chopped tomatoes, 1 Tbs pumpkin seed, 1/4 cup walnuts, 1/2 tsp dulse flakes

Dinner- Another smoothie! (Freshly made nut milk, banana, dates, shredded coconut, spices)

Animals are on my mind again today.  My raw vegan film maker friend, David Giardina, sent a link to an article about factory pig farming.  At first I didn't want to take time to look because, true to form, I thought that I knew everything I needed to know about the topic.  Today, I took a look; it's worse than I thought.  Female pigs are treated like living machines.  There is no acknowledgement that they are living feeling beings.  I realise that I didn't want to look at the article because it's disturbing.  As a former meat eater I used to participate in this cruel and torturous treatment.

I didn't choose raw foods because of moral reasons.  Actually, raw foods chose me; but that's another story.  I chose raw foods because I have this innate desire for health that kept me reading and searching for the truth.  Raw foods work; they provide all we need for healthy nutrition.  Practically all degenerative diseases result from the consumption of animal products.  It has been challenging to let go of my old ways of eating but I have no regrets; the raw way of living continues to get better and better.

For thousands of years we have been instructed to eat raw vegan foods: "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it.  They will be yours for food." - Genesis 1:29
