Exercise Sunshine and Fruit...
Breakfast- 7 Honey Tangerines
Lunch- Coconut almond smoothie, Live sandwich and salad
Dinner- Raw sweet potato casserole, 1/2 cup cashew nuts, 2 sticks celery
I ate breakfast after a vigorous run this morning and the tangerines hit the spot. They were sweet and juicy, helping me to feel buoyant all day long. To top it off, this afternoon the sun broke through the seemingly endless run of cloudy days we've been having. Vigorous exercise, fruit and sunshine, it doesn't get any better than this!
I attended my first New York Raw Food Meet Up today. I met an entirely new group of people who are interested in raw food living. We all met for lunch at Caravan of Dreams in the East Village. It's really cool to see who else is living raw and to find out how they came to raw and how they do it.
Regarding lunch, the sandwich and salad were delicious. The sandwich's flax seed bread was thick and hearty and stayed crispy until the last bite. Caravan has very good tomatoes and they topped off the pate spread that was the main ingredient of the sandwich. The smoothie was okay. It didn't have a lot of flavor; it tasted simply like coconut water and raw almond butter blended together. It's consistency was a little thin and I would have preferred that it be sweeter.
Kudos to Angel at Caravan who serves up consistently good raw food choices.
