I found a raw web site that is pretty cool, www.rawfood.meetup.com. I suddenly feel like my raw world just took a quantum leap!
There's a book, "Your Natural Diet: Alive Raw Foods", by Dr. T.C. Fry & David Klein, which address reasons for eating. It states that "There are only three essential reasons to eat: 1. to nourish our bodies when we experience hunger; 2. to hydrate our bodies when we are thirsty; and 3. to fuel our bodies before and during rigorous work and exercise. Eating for any reason other than the three essentials is, to a greater or lesser degree, not healthful."
Eating is not intended to be a recreational or emotionally therapeutic activity. It's okay to nurture and nourish ourselves with healthy meals, when our body needs it! Eating when we are not truly hungry or don't physically need food is not a health supporting act. It's okay to share and eat healthy meals with other people when we are hungry! Eating according to our body's need for food requires consciousness.
My dinner salad really hit the spot, Delicious!
