Being Prepared, All Fruit & All Mono Meals...

Breakfast- 10 Medjool dates
Lunch- 1/2 large watermelon
Dinner- 3 bananas
I had major food disappointment with Monday's food. As I was heading off to the beach early in the morning and was fantasizing about sitting by the ocean in the warm morning sun and eating sweet juicy watermelon, I quickly cut one and wrapped half of it up to take with me. When I finally arrived at the beach, I spread out my blanket, settled in and took a swim to work up an appetite. The disappointment came on the first spoonful of less than delicious watermelon. It was old and spoiled! I dug around hoping to find a few good bites but it was hopeless. Just as I began to feel quietly worried about being many miles and a long subway ride from home and having nothing to eat, I remembered the dates. Just before I left my apartment, it had occurred to me that I might get hungry before getting back home and I had quickly packed the dates and tossed them into my nap sack! I thoroughly enjoyed the dates, probably as much from relief as from hunger, and I gave myself a mental pat on the back for being prepared.
