Farmer's Market, A half pint is enough...
Breakfast- 1 cantaloupe
Lunch- from Pure Food & Takeout: 3/4 pint Almond Buttercup Ice cream, 2 Oatmeal raisin cookies, 1 thumbprint cookie
I went to the Union Square Farmer's market early this morning. I love getting there early when the air is fresh and cool and the vendors are just getting finished setting up. The local melons are in season and they're delicious. I use that word a lot; maybe I should expand my taste related vocabulary.
Today I bought Red leaf lettuce, large heirloom tomatoes, small brick colored cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, corn, apricots, watermelon, cantaloupe and blueberries.
The past several times I've bought Ice Cream from Pure Food... I have not been able to eat it all. It's so rich that I quickly become sated. However, I have that thing in my thinking that makes me afraid of not having enough so I keep buying whole pints. Would somebody please remind me that a half pint is enough the next time I want raw ice cream! It was a wonderful treat but like usual, it doesn't beat my fresh fruit for making me feel satisfied after a meal. The cashier at Pure Food... and I joked about how expensive the tiny but insanely delicious the Thumbprint cookies are. I said that I need to take out a loan to buy one; the cashier suggested that I pay with my own two thumbs.

For those of us that refuse any and all cow dairy, it is a gift from the gods! The best part, you can have as much as you like and the only side effect is good health. Enjoy!
