Delicious fresh dates, Good food but salty water at Bonobos...
Breakfast- 6 large Navel oranges
Lunch- 2 small bananas, 30 small delicious fresh dates
I had planned to eat 6-7 bananas for lunch but the second banana (the first of a bunch of 6) wasn't ripe. I do not like that "the fruits not quite ripe yet" disappointment. Lucky for me my shipment of fresh dates from The Date People arrived this morning via FedEx so I got over my banana disappointment and ate dates instead.
Once again, I slept really well last night. I feel very even when I'm eating simple meals of fruit and greens. Dinner at Bonobo's is on the agenda for tonight and that will be more of a treat rather than a simple meal. Luckily, I've already got my simple fruits and vegetables planned for tomorrow.
Dinner (on Monday, 1/8/07)- At Bonobos: large bowl of mixed greens with chopped tomatoes, cucumbers & shredded carrots w/agave mustard dressing and a nut patty; a bowl of vegetable soup; a bowl of Moroccan cauliflower; a small side of chopped macadamia nut salad
This may seem like a lot of food but I am very proud of myself for not leaving Bonobo's feeling stuffed. The food was delicious; I have always liked their cauliflower dish. Also, their nut patty is moist and not overly dehydrated.
What I don't like is that Bonobo's is very rigid with in how they put plates together and it feels complicated to put together a plate of selections that don't fall within their predetermined combination platters. The other thing is that they don't sell pure water. You can get tap water for free or chilled water so called mineral water that has salt added to it. I tried a bottle once and it was so salty that I couldn't drink it.
Otherwise I really enjoy the great organic raw food there.
