The Date People Reign...

Breakfast- 4/5's lb of fresh dates

Lunch- 6 bananas

Dinner- 1 banana, 2/3 lb of fresh dates

I'm loving these dates.  The Date People are the best!  They have great service and they promote small organic farming, plus, they cater to us raw people!

I had planned to eat only bananas for dinner but the first banana just didn't taste good on my palate so I put the bananas away and took out the dates.  These fresh, and I truly mean fresh, dates are so creamy and the sweetness is mellow and not over powering.

Today is several days of eating simple meals fruit or vegetable meals and not over consuming fat.  I'm feeling pretty good about it tonight.  I was tempted to eat some cashews earlier but knowing that that would bring me down kept me from giving in to the craving.  I was feeling very tired after a taxing day at work but after eating some dates and relaxing for a few minutes I got my second wind- at least for long enough to write this entry.

By the way, The Date People don't have a website but their telephone number is 760-359-3211.

Hi Stephen!

Great to see you're posting again!! Just wanted to let you know that The Date People have entered the computer-age and created a website. So far it's pretty simple - a PDF of their newsletter - but it has a lot of interesting facts about dates, the growing methods they use, and the names of 25 varieties of dates they supply. You can check it out at www.datepeople.net Enjoy!
