Raw Food log, March 11, 2007

Breakfast- One 5 1/2 pound papaya

Lunch- at Quintessence: 1 Fofu Hand Roll, two spoonfuls of Mexican Chile, 5 very small bites of the four dessert sampler

Dinner- One slice Ms. Lillian's Cheesecake Lover's Cheesecake

I 've been going through a detox, the first in over two years, and I haven't had much of an appetite.  On Sunday I had been indoors resting for two days and I felt like I needed some fresh air.  Bonobo's was the only place to eat that seemed remotely appealing but Bonobo's ended up being a disappointment.  I was perplexed that they didn't have very much food available.  Owner David Norman made reference to some "kitchen problems" and we decided to try our luck elsewhere.

We, Michael and I, ended up at Quintessence, where I haven't been in a long time.  My excitement upon seeing the "Brunch is Back" sign was short-lived because they had just stopped serving the Brunch menu for the day.  Our waitress, Cole, was generous enough to arrange for Michael to get some of the Chia Seed Porridge.

My Fofu Hand roll would have been great except that it had way too many onions.  Similarly, the Mexican Chile had a tasty flavored base but it was so hot with spices that I stopped eating after two spoonfuls. 

The longer I continue with raw food and striving to eat as much simple fruit and tender greens as I can, the less tolerant I am of even moderately spicy food.
