Recipe for a detox, a raw foodist's lament...
Breakfast- 1/2 large papaya
Lunch- 1/2 large papaya
Dinner- 1 slice Ms. Lillian's raw organic Nutty Butter Brownie
What do you get when you combine too much work related stress, not quite enough rest, a lack of exercise, too much eating of complex food combinations? A Detox! After over two years without having a detox in the form of a cold I have one and it hasn't been pretty. My chest has been tight, I had an on again off again low grade fever, and I've had a cough.
For three days I've done my best to rest as completely as possible. I've been pretty successful and it's paid off. Tonight I'm feeling like the detox is on it way out. I could have eaten more fruit instead of the other stuff the past day or two but I wasn't up to it. However, the notable thing about this is that the fruit meals I've eaten were the most satisfying of any meals I've had since this detox came on. It feels hard to forego the old habit of eating for comfort when you're feeling under the weather.
