Breakfast- 1/2 watermelon
Lunch- 1/2 watermelon
Dinner- 2 Mexican papayas, 4 bananas
I have lettuce I had planned to eat as my final course for dinner but I am so full I'm not quite up to the challenge of chomping down on it. Integral yoga had organic Romaine lettuce on sale for $1.49 each this morning and I snapped up two of them. They're big and full and untrimmed. I'm a little disappointed that I'm not eating one of them tonight.
My friend Amy Schrift who's in NYC visiting from her organic farm in Costa Rica said something thought provoking about how we choose what we eat. She pointed out that we frequently choose what to eat based on what we've purchased that is going to spoil first instead of what our natural senses pull us towards.
Tonight I did enjoy the papayas but I ate them because they were so ripe that they wouldn't really be good if I waited. I've got a big stack of bananas here that are perfectly ripe and I'll be eating them tomorrow because I don't want to have wasted my money if they spoil. It's something to think about.
