Raw Food Log, 12/11...
Breakfast- 3 large Navel oranges
Lunch- 24 oz fresh orange juice, a salad: Romaine lettuce, shredded carrots, walnuts, cucumbers, raisins
Dinner- at Raw Soul: Louisiana Gumbo soup, Tamale Pie
After the heavy snack food I had for dinner the night before, oranges were the only thing I had at home that was satisfying. In a perfect world skipping breakfast might have been the best thing for my digestive system, but I've learned that I get into trouble when I skip meals -it sets me up for compulsive food choices later in the day.
After work I had plans to go to a friend's holiday party and the good cooks from his church, West End Presbyterian, always supply the food, lots of home cooked comfort food and sweets and snacks. I knew that if I arrived without having eaten beforehand I'd be defenceless in ignoring the call of all of that cooked food. I decided to go to Raw Soul where I hadn't been in a long time. It was the right choice. First and foremost because I got to see both Lillian and Eddie, and secondly because dinner was delicious and infused with all the good lovin' that Lillian and Eddie infuse their food with. It was a great way to treat myself at the end of the work week. I also got to meet Effie who is working with Eddie and Lillian now.
The party at Alistair's was just perfect. I was able to see, smell and admire the holiday spread and I was very content to not eat it. We sang holiday carols and petted Anrnie (the rabbit). Oh, I just remembered, I drank a small glass of white wine. Between the carols, the holiday cheerfulness, the wine, having seen seen Lillian and Eddie and eating a good meal at Raw Soul, I ended the night full of holiday spirit.
It's been one full week back on 100% raw and I feel very good about it.

Have you started hearing about the Raw Food Diet? It’s gaining popularity and buzz, not just as a diet to lose weight, but a diet for a long and healthy life. We eat so much in the way of processed food that we don’t even stop to think about what we’re putting into our bodies, and how far we’ve come nutritionally from our ancestral, agrarian roots.
