Raw Date 2010, 5/22, Saturday...
Breakfast- 64 oz green smoothie (1 head Frisee lettuce, 6 large bananas, a handful of strawberries, a handful of blueberries, 2 cups cold water)
Lunch- 4 Champagne Mangoes
Dinner- 24 oz Fruit smoothie (home made with strawberries, banana, pineapple, orange)
Like Dr. Graham's calendar quote suggests, I'm laughing at myself this morning. Why did I put Blueberries in the smoothie when I know from experience that blueberries in smoothies are a disaster? There is a lot of beautiful fresh fruit in my apartment and I guess I just got carried away. The flavor was okay, but don't do what I did this morning. Blueberries are high in pectin, and that is not a bad thing, but they turn a smoothie into a gelatinous semi solid mass that has to be eaten with a spoon. Its not pretty.
Its a natural law that red mixed with green results in brown. The red strawberries, mixed with the green lettuce and the blue berries resulted in a brownish green gray color -not very appetizing. It became very filling very quickly and I had to force myself to eat all of it, something I try not to do. I only forced myself because I didn't eat very much yesterday and since today is Saturday, I don't want to try to have a active day not being fully fueled. I also don't want to slip into a habit of under eating.
